When i went off plaquenil i got fevers

After the fevers I get severe chilblains on my fingers, ears and toes. This I have always attributed to the Raynauds I was diagnosed with as a child.

Plaquenil is a slow-acting drug, meaning that it can take up to 6 months to experience the full benefits of this medication, but it is possible for symptoms to improve in as few as 1 or 2 months. Plaquenil and other antimalarials are the key to controlling lupus long-term, and some lupus patients may be on Plaquenil for the rest of their lives. Hi. I had been taking Plaquenil for about three years. Six months ago the doctor put me on the Imuran. I did not have any side effects from it thank goodness. Unfortunately, I had to stop taking it just last week. Every time I would get sick I would have to stop taking it. It lowered my immune system so much that I caught anything going around. Hello all, I am currently new to this site and ran across the discussion about stopping Plaquenil. I have been taking Plaquenil for about 8-9 months and thought that it was not helping me because I still have a fair amount of joint pain, fatigue, muscle pain and so many other issues.

So the reason for the post is to know if anyone here has had similar issues with unexplained fevers that cause chilblains? They typically form in the evenings and hurt like hell. It very mild case that is actually more sensitive to heat then cold.

Aug 26, 2016 I went to see a new rheum and he took me off the Plaquenil to see what symptoms would show. I have not been formally diagnosed yet. It took 6 weeks to see the results. I went into a bad flare. Went back to rheum and he decided to put me on Methotrexate. I have only taken it once, so I am not sure what the results will be. May 05, 2010 I don't know if this is just the RA in full swing, or if it is a side effect of the Plaquenil. I have been running a low-grade fever around 99.8 for about. a week and a half now. It comes & goes and I can tell when it is up because I feel hot. My normal body temperature is low, around 97.5, so I don't know if 99.8 would be considered a fever. Does anyone know if you have to be weaned off Plaquenil? I've been on it for 15 years, for Lupus?
