    Chloroquine ich treatment loaches

Because loaches have very tiny scales, they seem particularly susceptible to infection from Ich, although it can affect all aquarium fish. The first signs of an infection may be rapid breathing, redness around the gill area, or the appearance of tiny white spots on the skin of the fish that resembles white sugar.

Ich treatment with chloroquine phosphate was a total failure. Very sad to say. Exactly ten days after the recommended 10 day treatment the ich has returned. Plus the chloroquine was extremely hard on my many Amazon swords and they are all dying and will have to be replaced. Only one option is left, quinine sulfate. The aquarists and regulars at Loaches On Line recommend the following treatment for Ich 1. Do a 50% water change and vacuum the substrate well. This will eliminate half of the Ich cells in the tank right away. Make sure you clean all water changing equipment thoroughly and allow it to dry completely before using it again. Clown loaches with Ick+ My fish are doing well now after the treatment of Metronidazole, marine salt and temp up to 82. I had stopped the use of my marine salt because it is so undecided if the loaches and catfish can take it or not. They have done well again with it, so I am always going to add a bit of salt when I do water changes in both of my tanks.

Loach keepers call this behaviour "flashing." It is possible to conquer Ich in the aquarium, and the following guidelines are culled from experienced keepers of loaches. Infected loaches may make sudden repeated rubbing motions against rocks or gravel in the tank.

  6. Can anyone weigh in on what they think are the best medications to be used for treating Ich in regards to loaches, catfish and plecos? I'm particulary interested in reponses in regards to successful outcomes based on actual experience in medicating these types of fish. I apologize in advance for being so picky!

Salt as the sole medicine *may* work, especially if you start the treatment very early when you got the loaches, not when you saw ich. If you still see symptomes now, I'd assume it is not working, and it is the med time. I have 6 clown loaches and the largest and my personal favourite of the bunch has 3 spots on his tail wife decided to aim the Air Conditioner at my prize tank and I'm so super thrilled I need advice on a safe Ich med for clown loaches.far my only choices seem to be Quickcure and the junk. So I have a big problem. I have 7 Clown Loaches along with a few other fish in my tank and only the loaches have ich. It will be 2 weeks of treatment this weekend with Rid Ich Plus. They got better throughout the week last week and now they are worse than what they were. My water parameters are within regular parameters.
